Reusable Packaging Product

Caution* is a packaging system designed to be reusable and eliminate damage.

When this client approached me, they had a high number of damaged products and DOA returns. I was asked to design a solution.

• Identified most common points of failure by customers

• Managed relationships with vendors to achieve product at specified price point

• Tested and selected materials for durability, price point, and customer experience.

• Designed a modular system of boxes that could contain their vastly different and extremely fragile products

• Designed a self-locking lid system with integrated impact protection

One particular concern, because it was customer facing, was to ensure customers would pack any products or materials back up correctly for reuse and return shipments.

In order to solve this, I created a cost effective, self-locking lid for the system that would effectively "force" users to consistently repack products correctly without needing additional instructions or stored materials - across a line of products with vastly different shapes, sizes, and weights.
